One man's trash ...

... is another's playground.

I know it's a recurrent theme on this blog, but I can't get away from it. And this won't be the last time.

It seems to me that part of the art of living well is becoming more aware of what's around us, of the resources that lie within our reach.

Often because we're too busy looking for what we want to see, we miss what's there. We then find it all too easy to view ourselves as 'victims' and to play from within that disempowered status. It's all downhill from there, generally.

Who knows what we might find in each new context if we had the eyes to see? Sometimes the most magnificent resources lie in the most unlikely places.

A bunch of leaves. Is it a chore to rake up? A mess to deal with? Or one of the cheapest and funnest sources of entertainment for one who has eyes to see? Ah, the wisdom of child's play!
